Description

Debates over rights for transgender people in the United States – once rare and largely underground in the United States political discourse – have morphed in recent years into one of the largest policy battles engulfing the country, with hundreds of bills in at least 33 states impacting transgender youth and adults.

Hear from IOP Pritzker Fellow Chase Strangio, the leading ACLU lawyer on these cases, Trenton City councilwoman Jennifer Williams, American University professor Andrew Flores and Atlantic reporter Hanna Rosin as they explain the political and cultural landscape that produced this moment.

Co-sponsored by LGBTQ Student Life (Center for Identity and Inclusion).
