Description

The IOP hosts Chicago Treks in partnership with the Harris Center for Effective Government. Each trek offers 20 students the chance to dive into a political issue area through meeting with a broad range of public service practitioners. Participants will explore: What have been the primary failures and success surrounding the provision of accessible transportation to those with disabilities? How does Chicago's history of racism and segregation influence transportation policy today?
Speakers include local transit advocates Andrea Reed and Cheryl Johnson, and a site visit to the Metropolitan Planning Council.
