Description

Federal Jobs Info Session

Thursday, October 20

5:30 - 7:00 pm

IOP Living Room

Ever tried using USA Jobs to apply for federal internships and jobs? It can be daunting. Join us as we demystify the federal application process. We'll be joined by Katy Hogan, from the Partnership for Public Service. We'll talk about how to write a federal resume, how to navigate the federal hiring system, and more.

We will also hear from a current UChicago student who interned with the federal government during summer 2022 and a recent alum currently working for the federal government. They'll speak about their own application processes, share tips, and answer your questions.

The Partnership for Public Service is a non-profit that strives to "build a better government and a stronger democracy". This includes taking steps to develop effective leaders, addressing talent gaps, and promoting innovation and collaboration within the federal government.

Katy Hogan is a Senior Manager at Partnership for Public service and runs the Call-to-Service Network. Prior to this role, Hogan directed Ohio State University's Washington DC internship program.

USAJobs is the federal government's job application portal that helps candidates find open positions. The platform can be confusing and requires a special resume format. During the session, we will cover tips and tricks for making it work for you.
