City of Chicago: City Council Meeting

Join the IOP Career Development team for a field trip to Chicago City Hall to attend a Chicago City Council meeting and experience local government in action. This is a great opportunity to step outside of the classroom and see firsthand how city leaders discuss, debate, and make decisions that impact communities across Chicago.

Students interning in Chicago this summer are invited to join us for an inside look at the local policymaking process while learning more about the roles of elected officials, city government, and public service. Whether you are interested in politics, policy, government, advocacy, or simply curious about how decisions are made at the city level, this visit offers a unique opportunity to see civic leadership up close.
