12:30 pm - 1:45 pm
IOP Living Room, 5707 S Woodlawn Ave, Chicago, IL 60637
Who’s on the hook when a national crisis hits Main Street? How should mayors prioritize between city issues and nationwide controversies? And can leaders even count on local media to tell them what’s most important?
Join us to hear from WGN-TV news anchor Ben Bradley and IOP Practitioner-in-Residence Greg Hart (Booth ‘21), Village President of Hinsdale in the Chicago suburbs. Ben and Greg will discuss how local governments navigate public pressure, fight back against misinformation, and bridge polarized constituencies. Lunch will be served.
Career Development and Practitioner in Residence workshops are off the record and open to current UChicago students only. Seating in the IOP Living Room is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
