Description

Join IOP Practitioner in Residence Greg Hart (Booth ‘21), Village President of Hinsdale in the Chicago suburbs, for a look at what it actually means to govern as a local executive after the campaign ends. Drawing from real-world experience in office, the discussion will unpack how power, authority, and influence function once elected and how the role of a mayor differs fundamentally from that of a legislator.

Students get a chance to participate in a hands-on simulation focused on first-year leadership choices, followed by a debrief on executive accountability and visibility of governance successes compared to failures.
