IOP Pritzker Fellow David Pressman on "Gays & Authoritarianism"

THIS SEMINAR IS OPEN TO CURRENT UCHICAGO STUDENTS ONLY

Monday, November 17

3:30-4:45pm

Using Hungary as a case study, we will explore the role of so-called “gender ideology” and LGBT rights in increasingly authoritarian Hungary. What happens when “smart political judgment” argues for silence in the face of fundamental threats to a vulnerable population?

Special Guest (via Zoom): Jessica Stern, Co-Founder & Principal of the Alliance for Diplomacy and Justice and former U.S. Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI+) Persons

Pritzker Fellows seminars are off the record and open to current UChicago students only. Seating in the IOP Living Room is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
