Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) & Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL)

October 29, 2021

Rubenstein Forum, Friedman Hall

12PM-1PM

Please join the Institute of Politics as we welcome in person Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) to discuss his new book, Midnight in Washington. In it he argues that the Trump presidency so weakened our institutions and compromised the Republican Party that the peril facing American democracy will last for years.

Congressman Schiff is chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and a member of the special select House committee investigating the storming of the Capitol on January 6. He also led the first impeachment of former President Donald Trump.

Moderating this program is U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth. Senator Duckworth is an Iraq War Veteran and Purple Heart recipient who served in the Obama Administration as Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs and as a member of the U.S. House before being elected in 2016 to the U.S. Senate. She sits on the following Senate committees: Armed Services; Environment & Public Works; Commerce, Science & Transportation; and Small Business & Entrepreneurship.

Copies of Congressman Schiff's book Midnight in Washington and Senator Duckworth's book Every Day is a Gift will be for sale. Lunch will be provided.
