Description

With only a few weeks of Spring Quarter remaining, questions about summer and post-graduate experiences are at the forefront of student minds. Especially for those interested in international policy, it can be challenging to get started since careers can encompass a range of trajectories, job descriptions, and institutions.

Joining the student-led International Policy Program for a special workshop to explore the variety of opportunities in the international policy space, whether abroad, at a global organization, or with an international theme are the University of Chicago Career Advancement's Katie Fassbinder and Maha Ezalarab and two University of Chicago alumni in international policy, Liya Khan and Zach Wehrli.

Katie Fassbinder and Maha Ezalarab will discuss navigating the challenges of finding, funding, and completing these experiences. Katie has traveled to over 50 countries, including researching in India, teaching in Turkey, and serving in the Peace Corps in China, and earned a Masters in International Education. Maha is a Global Health specialist who completed a Masters in Science at King's College in London and researched hygiene practices in Zambia. Now, bringing their international perspectives to advising students, Katie Fassbinder is the Director of Social Science and International Careers, and Maha Ezalarab is the Director of Careers in Policy and Social Impact.

Additionally, two University of Chicago alumni will share their experiences currently working in international policy spaces.

The event will be in-person in the IOP Student Workroom, with Ms. Fassbinder and Ms. Ezalarab joining us in-person and Ms. Khan and Mr. Wehrli joining us over Zoom, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 12:00 - 1:00 PM CT. The event will be for students only and off-the-record.
