Description

Since its founding, Pakistan has long held a uniquely important position in global politics and regional dynamics in South Asia across a variety of issues, from energy, trade, and economics to national security. As it does so, Pakistan must frequently contend with multiple, competing priorities and long-term partnerships, including with both China and the United States, while also seeking to balance its unique and sometimes contentious relationship with its neighbor and competitor, India.

In recent years, Pakistan has also contended with a number of domestic challenges, including the slow development of its economy, a fractious political environment, and even diplomatic challenges with hosting cricket tournaments. As new domestic and global challenges emerge for Pakistan and its leadership, Pakistan’s relationship with the world and its people continues to evolve. How will Pakistan deal with these challenges and act in a changing world order?

Joining the student-led International Policy Program to highlight Pakistan’s special domestic and global position is former Foreign Minister of Pakistan Hina Rabbani Khar. Moderated by Divya Mehrotra, AB '25.

This event is for students only.
